It's Time to Start Your MINISTRY

When you share your time and talents with the church,    you are not only blessing others, but also being blessed in return.

We’re called to use our gifts to serve others as faithful stewards of God’s grace. … Just as with spiritual gifts, God wants us to use our talents and skills for the benefit of others. – 1 Peter 4:10

Lectors

Lectors have the responsibility to bring God’s voice, through His word, to our community. Lectors need to have a genuine love of Scripture, and a desire to share that
love through their ministry at Mass. Training is required, and the number in the ministry will determine the frequency of service.

Music Ministry

Since the early days of the church, music has been at the heart of worship.  The focus of music ministry is to bring people to God through the inspirations provided by composers of all genres.

At St. Rose of Lima the primary mission of the music ministry is to assist the congregation with full participation in the liturgy.  Although trained musicians are needed to serve as cantors and accompanists (organ, keyboard and guitar), voices of most abilities are encouraged to join the ministry in both English and Spanish.

We also welcome other musicians (i.e., woodwinds, strings, brass, percussion) to enhance the singing.

Please contact Mary Alvarado,
Music Coordinator at (805) 238-2218 ext. 143 or by email malvarado@saintrosechurch.org

This group adheres to the Catholic Church teaching on the respect of human life throughout a person’s lifetime. Participants wish to spread the work on this teaching and provide resources and spiritual assistance for those who face a dilemma of choice.
